Awww! So sweet. I loved this: an excellent mix of plot, cuteness, and suggestiveness. Although, I confess, when I first looked at the fanart I’d assumed that Holmes was horrified by the biological display of domesticity he suddenly found himself witnessing! *laugh* I’d figured that he was just too Victorian to not be shocked by a mother cat nursing her kittens. But I loved him being charmed by the kittens, too. It was really, really cute! Thanks for writing and sharing (and the interesting note about Victorian-era crime).

Awww! I love the moggies! Very nice…Holmes appearing to show disinterest in the cats, yet taking a liking to them…especially the runt.

A great fight scene and I love the way the two come together to relax at the end! Lovely! Don’t stop writing!

This was almost worth reading for the Blackadder-esque hyperbole of the introductive description alone.

Seriously, it was marvellously entertaining, and truly adorable without being horribly sickly-sweet. ” ‘I meant what are they doing here outside a warehouse in the rain’ ” was very poignant, and nicely understated.

BTW, derien, headache powders aren’t mixed with water. They’re poured onto the back of the tongue and then chased with a glass of water, much like taking a crushed pill. The idea is that they work faster because they don’t have to dissolve. And you’re right; they ARE nasty.

Ah, I was wondering about you using Asprin with a capital as though it were a brand name. It IS a brand name, but was not registered as such until 1899. Probably be more in keeping with the time period if he asked for a headache powder…? (I know people still use the powders mixed with water in the South (U.S.) rather than pills, I’m not sure why. They must taste nasty.

Watson the rugby player! Kittens! And a very dumb dog… heheh.

(Although scooping up a mother cat with kittens and relocating them to your own place is MUCH more difficult than you make it sound! I like to believe that Holmes is so fast that he got her off-guard and Watson is so comforting that he kept her calm.)

Oh, I like this! I know the drawing you mean, and I’ve never particularly cared for dogs (silly things). Add a bit of sex and rugby and it makes for a dashed good read. : )
